This is the result you get when you make the living room dark, put on a Disney movie (it was Peter Pan today) let her lay in a lawn chair with a blanket and then leave her alone....she eventually just passes out!

We celebrated Taylor's 3rd birthday today out at the pool where my in-laws live. The weather was gorgeous and the water was the perfect temperature. Taylor woke up all excited about her day. She said "Today is my birthday party, yoo-hoo...Happy Birthday to Tay-Tay!!" It was precious! She swam for about 5 hours straight. Only had to potty twice. No melt-downs. The day was great! Morgan was so sleepy but the poor boy just wouldn't give it up. He was determined to party all day. Once we got in the car to go home it took him all of about 1 minute to fall asleep (that was 5:00 and I think he's done for the night!!)

It was nice having all of our families and close friends with us to share this day. Everyone there were was pretty much the same people that were at the hospital the day she was born! At one point today I asked Taylor if she was having a good time, this was her response "I am having so much fun at my birthday party and I got soooo many cute toys!"

It has been a quick 3 years and our little girl is growing up so quickly. Her official birthday is tomorrow the 20th and I'm sure we will have to celebrate all over again...I wonder where she gets that idea????

So here's to you, Princess Taylor-Bear. Our cup runneth over.

Enjoy the picture overload :)

That darn rocking chair!!

I got a call today from the director at Morgan's school and they said I probably needed to come down and get Morgan. He was walking today and fell and hit his head on the bottom of a rocking chair. When I got there he was sitting in Donna's swivel chair just laughing but he had a nice gash to his head, which was still bleeding. So, off to Wolfson's Children Hospital we went. I was actually very impressed that I only spent 2 hours there. That's like record speed for that place!

The doctor that helped us was actually a girl that I went to high school with so that was really cool and calming, except for the fact that we are the same age and she's a doctor and I'm a....well, I'm not a doctor. Anyway, she said he was probably going to scream when they hold him down to glue his head back together (they glued it instead of stitches) but when they held him down he started giggling. He was so cute! Anway, after 2 quick hours we were home, he got some lunch and now he's out for the count!

Now, he and Taylor have matching scars on the exact spot on their heads...how sweet :)

The Birds

Anyone ever see the old movie "The Birds"? That movie really creeped me out when I was a little girl. I remember seeing some of it over at my Aunt Zelma's house. I had nightmares for months. Since that time I always had this vision that one day I was probably going to be attacked by birds....it finally happened!

Last night, as me and the kids were driving home from church, we started up on the ramp to the Hart Bridge. It was quiet in the car, both kids were starting to zone out, I was in my own thoughts and then out of no-where this big white bird flew right in to my windshield. I screamed and about lost control of the car. I heard a loud thud and then a few more thuds as it skidded over the top of my car (thank God I had the sunroof closed!) I pulled over to the side of the road as I was completely shaking from head to toe. Taylor says from the back in her tiny voice "Momma, was that a bird?" I'm thinking, how do I tell her this without traumatizing her. So, I said yes and then she started cracking up. I couldn't beleive it! She looks over at her brother and says "Morgan, a big bird just went SMACK on our window!!" as she covers her mouth with her hands laughing hysterically, which in turn, got me tickled too. When I got home I had to get out the cleaning products as there was white gook all over my windsheild and roof, it was so gross!

The car is fine and we are fine but I doubt that birdy will be flying South for the winter this year :)

Chick-fil-a in a 2 year olds mind

Me: Taylor, what do you want for dinner?
Tay: I want to go to Chick-n-play

Candle light dinner

Taylor missed her nap Friday by a few hours and crashed on the couch about 4:30 (which she didn't wake up until 9:15!) and Morgan loves his bed time so he was down for the night at 6:45. What's a couple to do with time on their hands? I decided to make some dinner but when it came time to eat Taylor was still asleep. Our living room and dining room are right next to each other so we didn't want to turn on the light and wake her up so Mark took Tay's little table and put it in the kitchen. I got a candle to try to make it a little more romantic (the story of my life!). Meanwhile, we totally felt like giants sitting at an elf's dinner table and could not stop laughing. And to top it all off the chicken I was baking was so thick it took much longer than the rest of the food...so we ate all of our sides first and then had chicken for dessert. I'm telling you it was truly romantic, can cokes and everything!!

Happy 232nd Birthday America!!!!

Saturday Sibling time

Taylor decided she wanted to get in on the fun in Morgan's crib...they must have played in there for about an hour. Reading books, singing, playing peek-a-boo. Lord knows I could never get Taylor in that crib willingly when she was little...

Then it was off for some haircuts. My cousin, Candice cuts their hair (no she is neither Vietnamese nor black), but she is on slight bed rest right now so we went to the nearest Super Cuts. This was Taylor's first hair cut ever, Morgan's 3rd and Mark's millionth. Tay did really well. She teared up for a while until I told her Morgan was having a blast. My how that changed everything, plus I bribed her with a lollipop!!

Then we went to my neice Delaney's 4th birthday party. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures there but I did capture the quiet ride home.
